On 16 April, a national workshop was organised in Abuja, Nigeria by INEW member organisation IANSA Women’s Network Nigeria with representatives of the Irish and Norway Embassies in Abuja, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), Office of the National Security Adviser and members of the Civil Society Organisations on the Political Declaration and the issue of explosive weapons in populated areas, as well as preparing for the meeting ahead of the first international follow-up conference to review implementation of the Political Declaration.

The conference will be the first follow-up since the high-level international conference in Dublin on 18th November 2022, which saw the Declaration formally adopted by 83 states. Find links to the communique and report here.
