Handicap International – Humanity & Inclusion (HI), a member of INEW is currently facilitating a multi-stakeholder process to produce guidance and recommendations for the implementation of the commitments related to humanitarian access, cooperation, and victim assistance set out in the Political Declaration.
A first workshop on principled and safe humanitarian access in EWIPA settings was held online on 30th May 2024 (report available here) and a second workshop on healthcare access in EWIPA settings was held in-person on 12-13th November 2024 (report available here).
Explosive weapons pose significant threats to civilians, both during and after active hostilities, making Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) and Conflict Preparedness and Protection (CPP) essential measures for ensuring their safety. “From Awareness to Action: Risk Education and Conflict Preparedness in EWIPA settings” aims to develop key policy materials and actionable recommendations for delivering these protective measures and awareness-raising activities to civilians, with a focus on vulnerable groups.
